For concluding a successful business meeting, visiting your family or simply meeting up with colleagues or friends after work: We have the perfect Italian apéritif pastries. Discover our gourmet creations from focaccia, taralli, bruschette and trecce. We work with small traditional Italian manufacturers to create this savoury pastry as an aperitif.
Aperitif pastries include many snacks for gourmets: focaccia, taralli, bruschette or trecce, the twisted filled dough sticks from Puglia. Our apéritif pastries are made exclusively from exquisite Italian ingredients such as high-quality wheat flour, fruity olive oil, sea salt and yeast.
Taralli is a gourmet finger food, salty, crispy and nuanced in flavour - an apéritif cake for connoisseurs. They are mainly produced in the southern half of the Italian peninsula, particularly in Puglia. They are also known as curved bread sticks.
Classic taralli are shaped into rings or oval shapes. There are also smaller taralli (with smaller circumference) called tarallini. Similar to bagels, taralli are boiled briefly before baking, which gives them a very interesting texture. Baked taralli can be stored for several months in airtight packaging.
The ingredients for traditional taralli are wheat flour, olive oil, yeast, white wine and salt. In our gourmet online shop, you’ll find delicious variations, from taralli with fennel seeds to taralli with roasted onions or potatoes with rosemary, to peperoncini and our salty nature apéritif. There’s the right variation for every gourmet appetiser. Viva la Puglia!
What’s Italians’ favourite starter? We may not agree entirely, but we believe it is this versatile and affordable piece of toasted bread known as ‘bruschetta’ across the Italian peninsula.
Tasted with fine virgin olive oil, baked crispy and seasoned with salt and oregano, our aperitif biscuit bruschette is the perfect pastry for an aperitif. The most common type of bruschetta is toasted bread with fresh tomatoes dressed with garlic, basil, olive oil and salt. It’s very important to roast the bread first (ideally over a wood fire) and then add the ingredients in the cold.
But apéritif-lovers can also save the effort, as our toasted bruschette from an Italian master bakery can be refined with all the toppings as desired. From hearty mushrooms waved in butter with our truffle oil to spicy antipasti and delicious fish and meat options, there’s nothing to stop gourmets. Unpack the bruschette, place on top and put it in your mouth - and for apéritif pastry purists, it’s a treat on its own.
Focaccia is an Italian flatbread that is similar to pizza dough and can be either sweet or savoury. In Italy, Liguria is the best known region for focaccia, which in Genoa is called ‘classica,’ a focaccia up to 2.5 cm thick, with a light crust and a surface full of holes that absorb olive oil, such as our best olive oils from Sicily.
Over the centuries, the different regions of Italy have changed and adapted the original focaccia recipe to their own tastes and preferences.
Our focaccia are from master baker Marco from Piedmont. Using the best ingredients, he creates hearty masterpieces with rosemary, roasted onions, peperoncini or black olives. This bread speciality makes every apéritif round a festive celebration. So if you don’t have the time to make delicious focaccia with an apéritif biscuit recipe yourself, then browse our shop for your favourite flavour.
Treccine is a savoury snack with traditional Italian flavours that can be prepared as a starter, filled or as an accompaniment to an entire meal. It’s love at the first bite, so it’s just a warning: They’re addictive!
Our trecce al pomodoro are a crunchy and savoury alternative to the original and instantly capture the hearts of all colleagues, friends and family members. Our range of nibble treccines is complemented with salt, olive oil and white wine.
The ‘Tonda Gentile’ hazelnuts from Langhe in Piedmont, also known as Langarola hazelnuts, are precious little nut jewels. In this region, hazelnuts are not only a foodstuff, but also part of the local culture. Our producers grow hazelnuts and pick them at the perfect time – when they fall off the tree. After picking, the hazelnuts are dried in the sun for a few days.
Our hazelnuts enhance any occasion for an aperitif, are tasty, pleasantly aromatic and are perfect with chocolate. And they’re healthy, too. They are antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and prevent cardiovascular diseases. Bon appetito!
Our aperitif biscuits keep for many months in airtight packaging (see packaging). Opened, the salty gourmet finger food pastry should be eaten in a few days. Depending on how and where it is stored, it loses its freshness. It’s a good idea to open it and enjoy it with friends, family or colleagues.
The basic ingredients of the aperitif biscuit are the best Italian wheat flour, yeast, olive oil and salt. Gourmets will also find plenty of herbs, tomatoes, fennel, roasted onions and chilli in our creations.
There is no strict time for drinks. An aperitif is usually organised after work is done before lunch or dinner. But the morning before lunch and generally between meals is also the perfect time for an aperitif and your favourite drinks with colleagues, friends and family.
When the next aperitif is coming up, why not host an Italian gourmet version for your colleagues, friends or family? Surprise the aperitif with our classic focaccia with rosemary or fans of the spicy one with our focaccia with peperoncini. If you want to surprise your apéritif guests with some extraordinary culinary treats, then our taralli from Puglia are just the thing. Here you can choose between the flavours nature, with fennel seeds, with onions, potatoes and rosemary or with peperoncini .
For a Bruschetta selection You can use our ready-to-use crispy bruschette and topping them with anything a gourmet could crave. Top it off with our hearty trecce al pomodoro with a range of Italian or Mediterranean dips and our inimitable hazelnuts from Piedmont. With plenty of antipasti, delicious prosecco, vino Rosso and vino Bianco, you can enjoy the perfect Italian apéritif experience.
